GAA Conference 2011: "Wa(h)re 'Kultur'" - Cultural Heritage, Revitalisation and the Renaissance of the Idea of Culture
Welcome to the conference website of the German Anthropological Association GAA (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Völkerkunde DGV). The GAA will hold its next biannual meeting in Vienna from September, 14th, until September, 17th. We are very pleased to organise this conference in collaboration with our Austrian partners:
- Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology, University of Vienna (Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien),
- Institute for Social Anthropology, Austrian Academy of Sciences (Institut für Sozialanthropologie der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften) and the
- Museum of Ethnology (Kunsthistorisches Museum mit Museum für Völkerkunde und Österreichischem Theatermuseum)

We highly recommend an early booking of accomodation since the month of september ist touristic high season in Vienna. Hotels in the city centre might be fully booked soon.

Cancellation free of charge is NOT possible after you have registered. For a cancellation until September, 14th, a cancellation fee of EUR 20,-- will apply. For later cancellation, refunding will be possible only in special cases.
